Douglas Lieth, M.A., is a former Communication and Interpersonal Skills instructor for the Kaplan Medical 5-day Step 2 CS program at the New Jersey Medical Institute in Newark. During his five years there, he also taught focused history taking and assisted with S.P. training. Mr. Lieth has a twenty-four year background in clinical skills assessment and standardized patient education, and began a twelve year working affiliation with the Morchand Center for Clinical Competence in 1991. Over the span of his career, he has personally evaluated over two thousand patient encounters for foreign medical graduates and domestic medical students.
Douglas Lieth has participated in CSA programs for the following institutions: Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, New York Medical College, Albert Einstein Medical College, and Weill Cornell Medical College. He is a member of the Association of Standardized Patient Educators.
Marisa Merrigan has worked in the field of clinical skills assessment for over 20 years, instructing and evaluating communication, physical examination and history taking skills for medical institutions throughout the NY/NJ area.
She has worked for Kaplan Medical, University of Medicine and Dentistry NJ, Cornell University, Einstein College of Medicine and Robert Wood Johnson.
Ms. Merrigan is a private tutor for the USMLE with special emphasis on Spoken English Proficiency and Communication Skills assessment.
